The department is located on Level 1 of the main building, and boasts facilities of a high standard.
At Key Stage 3, all pupils experience designing and making activities across a range of areas of technology, including Food, Resistant Materials, Textiles, Graphics and Systems and Control. There is the opportunity to specialise in two areas only of the subject once pupils join Year 9.
Key Stage 4 offers the opportunity to study for GCSE in most of the areas of technology covered in Key Stage 3, although not all areas are offered every year.
Pupils have the opportunity to work in a range of materials, using some of the latest Computer-Assisted Design and Computer-Assisted Manufacture technology.
Standards are high and pupils, as well as members of the community, are able to access technology for leisure and pleasure via the school’s community offer.
Mr Ingle is Head of Technology, and departmental staff include Mrs Bradley, Mrs Tong, Mrs Coleman, Mr Williams, Mr Young and our technicians Mrs Thom and Mr Britton.
